So many are still working it's hard to tell if the UK is on lock down. Out of the UK's total workforce of around 20 million, 15 million are still working.

All manual workers are still working full time. All the supermarkets are working flat out. You can still get fast food delivered and buy beer at a 24 hour off license.

The construction is untouched too. Maintenance companies are still sending people into homes and business to make repairs.

Airports, buses and trains are still operating. Garages fixing cars and MOT's are carrying on normally.

Insurance companies offices are still open and fully staffed. Call centres are open, banks and building societies too.

It's hard to see who's on lock down. I have a feeling it's only those working for the government and in leisure.

A few retail shop's have closed giving the "impression" of a lock down in most town centres. And the schools of course. After the first few days of this, I can't think of any of my friends who arent working normally.

Maybe it's just the south [shrug65465.gif]

I think you are out of date, Mate; round here most of those you quote are locked down, except our window cleaner and our gardener, who have been this week.
We have a 6 month pause for our MOT.

Right the way along the coast all self catering accommodation is full. From holiday flats to caravan parks and even campsites.

It seems people have left London in their droves preferring any accommodation outside the city to staying in it.

The problem is getting worse with street homeless being offer free hotel rooms. The "begging army" of tramps and chancers that normally arrive with the Brighton festival in May......are arriving now.

More tents have turn up in parks and open spaces in the last 24 hours than for the whole of last summer.

God only knows how local authorities are going to move them on once this is over.

No one here is happy about it.
