""But can I say to my Rt. Honourable friend, the future relationship we have set out in the political declaration ends free movement, ends sending vast sums of money to the European Union every year, and ends the jurisdiction of the European Court of Justice in the United Kingdom. It also enables us to trade freely with the rest of the world.""

(This Is paraphrased from the PMs response to Boris).

So why all the fuss?

Only in public are they all against it, in private they secretly agree with her.

After the announcement that Brexit had won the referendum we had to listen for months on end to all members of all opposition parties trying to force Theresa May to go for a "soft Brexit" instead of a hard Brexit which then looked the likely outcome. And then, when all was said and done Theresa settled on a softer Brexit, which took the opposition parties completely by surprise. She actually did what they had been asking for! But of course, its totally unheard of for an opposition party to agree with anything the Government says no matter what the subject matter so they stood there and claimed that what she was now doing still wasn't right. And so it goes on and on and on. No matter what Theresa decides nobody will agree with her out of principle, despite the fact that there isn't one single better offer been made by anyone.

As for the members of her own party who are kicking up a stink, this whole debate has descended into a farce with each individual party member insisting she do things "their way". But of course, if she did things their way then another group would insist she do things "their way" instead. And again, it just goes on and on and on with there never likely to be a winner. The best thing Theresa can do and what she has been doing quite fantastically is ignore the lot of them and get on with the job. I think when all said and done she'll find she has far more support than the media and those shouting the loudest against her realise.

Well, all the 'antis' are assuring us that she will not get it through parliament, and even the EU isn't settled fully yet.
Somehow the anti brigade have managed to make more noise than the for's and the impression is given that opinion is with the Anti's.
Though, knowing what a weak, scurvy shower our MPs are I expect many who do protest too much will end up going with her, when it comes to a vote.

It was only a week ago the "antis" were assuring us that 48 letters of no-confidence would be lodged by them with the chairman 0f the 1922 backbench committee.

Like I said, they are a weak and scurvy shower.

…...and it seems to me that Theresa has, by upsetting everybody with her Brexit, brought the nation together nicely.
No one expected we'd be unanimous!

There is another thing that worries me; if all 27 countries can pass our Brexit in just 27 minutes, I wonder if it is best for us, or the EU.
They were the ones with the smiling faces. [confused1.gif]

Perhaps because they’ve been working on it for a little longer than 27 minutes..
