Heres an idea. Lets note down the doom and gloom predictions surrounding Britain breakaway from the EU. Then we can look back and see if any of them actually came true or not. I predict 90% (or higher) wont happen or if they do the effect on the country wont be anywhere near as bad as they say.

Lets start with todays message from Mark Carney, the governor of the Bank of England. "A no deal Brexit could result in house prices falling by 35%". Does anyone seriously believe this??

Another, "you may not be able to drive your car in the EU with a British driving licence".  Nonsence

And another "if you only have 6 months left on your passport you may not be allowed into the EU"   My passport is up in August next year so I could be locked out of the Netherlands

Lets see what reall transpires eh.

Feel free to add your own gloom and doom predictions that are being spread.

I rather like the story of the portable loos being placed up the M20 for the convenience of lorry drivers caught in a Brexit Jam.

As to house prices tumbling....it will never happen for, if they tumble by 35% there will be a squillion foreigners all rushing here to snap them up.

This is true, not for the reasons you think and nothing to do with "Brexit"

Housing prices will reduce over the next 20 years for these reasons:

Over 1/2 the UK is now over retirement age. Most long term council tenants are the same. Post war baby boomers will start to "down size" or die. The UK will see a reduction on housing prices across the board as demand drops.

Interest rates will increase leading to "buy to let" mortgage holders being forced to sell at a reduced price.

I don't get this [shrug65465.gif]

He's lived in Holland for over 20 years, brought up his family there and brought a home...and never took Dutch citizenship

"" The UK will see a reduction on housing prices across the board as demand drops.""

But demand won't drop. Zillions of furriners will be speeding here to buy up the cheaper property.

Oh we’d better raid sports shops for things like tents as well. Little, stoves, things like that. Maybe a bbq might be handy for cooking in case the power grid goes.

doa can you steal some solar panels? and maybe a generator if you can find one. [thumbsup.png]

Another likely scenario is armageddon. So the army will need to be called in.

The country will grind to a halt.
