Its bad enough we have to continuously listen to the defeated democrat party in America attempting to convince the world their election defeat was down to the Russians. Now we have British members of parliament trying to dig up non existent evidence that the Russians played a role in the Brexit result. Well done to Arron Banks for standing up to these mps and making a laughing stock out of both them and their allegations.

Isn't it time the world stopped being so paranoid about the Russians?

Right now Europe is weak. The Germans have no real army like the Dutch or Italians.

The UK army is bogged down in Iraq and the navy's new aircraft carriers still have no aircraft. We have small numbers of troops protecting eastern europe from the baltic states to black sea. [9n5.gif]

If the Russians move into Poland or Estonia: NATO goes to war.

It's going to be hard to convince the British public to defend Europe during Brexit. Few would support such a war. Eastern europeans are disliked in the UK.

Hence the "Russian paranoia" stories in the media [adrian.gif]

Poles aren't so bad doa, well not round here anyway. they give our car a bloody good wash every year, before we go on holiday. [thumbsup.png]

As for Russia...hmm..I’m not paranoid about them. I view Putin the same way I view the cheese munching tw*t Kim...as a bloody joke. They posture and waffle and make threats....but would they have the balls to carry it through?

Putin and Kim both suffer from little man syndrome. bellends the pair of em. [9n5.gif]

""but im sure something mind blowingly tragic is going to happen.""

What? Like England winning the world cup?

That would really be a tragedy for all the rest of the world.

The Russians aren’t helping themselves, especially as Putin’s political adversaries are disappearing at an alarming rate.. then there’s outspoken former generals talking up the “re-acquiring” of the Baltic states. Cyber attacks against foreign banks and other establishments have been traced back to mother Russia and more recently, a Russian missile was identified as responsible for shooting down flight MH17, then vetoed an international tribunal from being set up to determine guilt, meaning any eventual trial would be held in the Netherlands under Dutch law.

Do you seriously think the Russians played a role in Donald Trump's election campaign or took steps to ensure Brits would vote to leave the EU?

Social media has been widely used by Russia against former Soviet countries, driving wedges between ethnic Russians or Russian-speaking populations and their host governments, NATO, and the European Union. This is well documented. Yes, I do believe they were involved in a social media campaign. However, perhaps not to the levels many would advise..
