""Grammar schools in England are being given the chance to create thousands of new places in a trimmed-down selective school expansion programme.
The expanded wholly selective schools will have to set out plans to admit disadvantaged pupils, perhaps by lowering the entrance requirements.
It comes after Theresa May's scheme for a new wave of grammars was abandoned due to lack of Parliamentary support.
Plans for new faith schools have also been announced.

I am all for grammar schools, for they teach the young; but why faith schools? They teach the young about fairy tales.

Do we need fairy tales in this modern world?

As long as these schools teach respect for other religions, I have no issue.

Religion and government should always be separate. If it isn't people can't be treated equally or fairly.

Schools don’t teach respect. Parents teach that. Churches teach hope.

Good schools do! Good parents do. Church offers something nebulous!

To many, though I can’t count myself amongst them, the church offers belief in something bigger than themselves. The old “why am I here?” question is answered ..

But the 'why am I here' question has not been answered. Where's any proof?
All they have is some garbled history of the beliefs of some ancient people who had no knowledge of the world, never mind the heavens,

For many people there is no need of proof, the desire to believe in a higher power is enough.
I don't understand why some/many atheists feel so driven to rob those that have a faith of something that brings them comfort. Why try to take away something that helps some get through this journey of life just because you don't share that belief? Putting aside extremists, thinking of the ordinary man in the street, if it brings comfort and does no harm, then where is the harm?

You'll find religion throughout history has caused more deaths in the World than anything else.

It's a deadly disease that needs curing
