Reports of a second lockdown are all over the media again.

Let's look at the facts that matter:

1. The government's running out of money.
2. The economy is in recession.
3. The public are tired of restrictions.

There's no sign of an increasing death rate and without those extra deaths... no support for more restrictions.

Those with parents in long term social care are becoming increasing mercenary in private. A common viewpoint expressed is covid 19 could be a blessing in disguise causing early death for those over 70 saving thousand in long term care costs.

Younger members of our society such as Louis & Alex from Channel 4's Gogglebox have their own viewpoint.

Quote:
Louis said: "As long as they’re not going clubbing and picking up 18/19 year olds and taking them back to halls, things will be fine.

"It seems crazy that they were putting out all of these schemes like Eat Out To Help Out and trying basically to get everyone back to normal, and now they’re blaming young people."

Alex then agreed, adding: "It just seems backwards to me because if there’s small group of people who are at risk of dying, then it should be them self-isolating - not the large group of young people.

"And also it should be their choice because if they’re aware of the risks and the statistics then it should be their choice whether they isolate or not. But to make everyone else put their lives on hold, it’s ridiculous."

A new lockdown would never work again due to the simple truth:

People are too petty minded to care.

My own feeling is the public is willing to take 50,000 extra deaths this winter if they can carry on with their own lifes. Unless the death rate hits 20% for covid 19 any new restriction won't be supported or observed.

A new lockdown will not be observed because the people have lost faith in Boris.
He did well, until his bout of Coronavirus, since which he has not been able to gain either his wits, or the trust of the people.
I remember saying on here, some time ago, that I hoped Boris got the job of PM simply because he would be good for the gaiety of the Nation.
Well, we laughed with him: now we laugh at him...That's all in the rules for a politician.
He was, though, the only man, I believe, who could get us Brexit; and he won us an election and saw off that marxist chap......
That's enough for his CV.

But why should I pay for your idle pleasures?
Answer me that, in a sensible way, if you can!
