Scrumping for crab apples, playing up the paddler, riding my bike down a steep hill and coming off at the bottom. Scraped all the skin off of my elbows, scratched meself silly.
Playing with an ouija board with my mate from school.
Skateboarding down the middle of our road with my mate. Steep road it was too. Managed not to get run over.
Making up ready brek for my dogs puppies.
Mucking about with the fire dad had laid in the hearth and setting it on fire.whoops.

In a time when one twists a dial on a wall for hot water and heating, actually building and lighting a fire seems archaic..

Being first in the playground on a really frosty morning and being the one to make the first slide.
Magic!

Magic!

I remember being smacked in the mouth by a see-saw, as I wandered a little too close.. then flying off the roundabout and cutting my knee..

Odd really, as there had been an escaped lion in the park and no one had ever found it.... according to the big kids.

Do you remember Saturday pictures? I was in Somerset at the time and, standing in the afternoon queue, was pissed off by some boys who pushed in , in front of me. 'Oi! I said, there's a queue here.'
My accent must have done it...'you wanna make something of it,' said the big one, in broad mummerset.
Not wanting to lose face with my chums I swaggered 'yes, I do.'
He knocked the shit out of me.
It was not London's best day.

Saturday mornings matinees were great
pictures and all that
problem was where I lived
there were 3 rival schools proddy, catholic and a normal one
and erm they all used to argue who was the "cock" of the school.

cue mass scraps outside the civic hall.

Saturday pictures was in the town hall, though there was a cinema in the town.. saw John Wayne in The Searchers.. can’t remember much to be honest, but we had to stand up and sing the National anthem...

I might have hummed it a bit..

Going to the fair on the common. Legend has it that a curse was put on the fair in our town, and every time there was a fair,it was supposed to rain. well according to the curse anyway. [shrug65465.gif]

Snowing on my birthday, in June! I wont say what year it was though.

Putting a candle on the side out the kitchen in a power cut, under the unit. nearly set the house on fire.

Taking my dog for a walk through the park, and losing the back door key. dad had to get a new back door. whoops.
