The internet's not the right place for me right now. Avoiding contact seems for the best.
Angry at the world, disappointed with friends and family.

I'm returning to my childhood.

Carbolic soap (lifebuoy) seems to clean my hair and skin better than modern liquid soaps.

While not returning to the old log fires of the past, I've order a wood pellet burner. The gas bill is getting far to hight. It's going to cost 10-15k to replace the old gas system, but there's grants and I won't be paying for labour.

All those nice recycling bins full of waste paper and cardboard are always overflowing. A £80 bag of saw dust and pellet grinder means I can take full advantage. (60% sawdust/40% waste paper)

When I was on my apprenticeship, one of the older men had a boiled egg each day for lunch. Nothing else, just a boiled egg. God I took the piss out of him for that

I understand it now. You reach a point in life where change losted all its appeal. New things seem bad and unnecessary. Repair is more reassuring than replacement. It's not a case of old men being mean with money as I always believed. After years of soaking up new ideas, it's hard to see the point of new ones.

Come Come BG. This is not the time for smelling salts.

Take a large whisky, a very large one, a squeeze of lemon, one brown sugar cube and hot water.
Everyone feels better after that! [thumbsup.png]

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((DOA))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) I think I understand. I don't know if it is a mid life crisis which they tend to label it as, or just you get to a point in your life that you think WTF!!! It all seems much easier back then but maybe we arent remembering the whole picture? I think it's a harsh, fast and wasteful world that we live in now and I worry about the world my nephews will be responsible for in a few years when they become adults.
