It's not every often ignore advice, but back in 2010 I did [9n5.gif]

I was talking to a doggy second hand washing machine shop owner over at Peacehaven and he told me the new 8/9 kg washing machines wouldn't last.

"Its too much strain on the bearing and they won't last 5 years" he told me.

At the time I just throught he was a shit. Selling over priced second hand washing machines to OAP's and students.

Turns out he was right

In the last week friends have asked my opinion on a few washing machine faults and its the same fault each time.........the bearing are going.

Most of these machines are less than 5 years old and have 8-9kg drums. I have an Lg at home that's 4 years old and the bearings are going on that too. Its still under warranty and they will replace them for free.

After poking around the repair forums the common view is these machines bearing are designed to fail after few years. If people are willing to pay hundreds of pounds on new phones every couple of years, why not washing machines too [shrug65465.gif]

It's a sign of the times
