I wonder what is seen as a 'blessed life?'
One that has been formed by hard work or....
One that has gained a council house and other benefits?
Let us ignore the silver spoon for the moment.

You beat me to it. I wouldn't count those who graft for a living as blessed.

But are they not filled with a sense of fulfilment?
As they bask in the glory of their own making?
Unlike another whose life was built on the charity of others?

UC should be scrapped.

The idea was to turn family credit, housing benefit and other benefits into one payment each month. The system was design by government who used their own payroll methods for a base.

The system is not design for those who get paid weekly or seasonal workers.

The main issues are length of time to receive a payment and reliants on internet access.

The application needs to made online and updated daily. The government will not pay the first 7 days of any claim and request a interview before allowing the claim.

UC clearly targets and victimizes vulnerable people such as street homeless or those with a poor education. Without internet access, UC leaves fails those the welfare state was set up to help.

Overall UC is a middle class welfare program not fit for purpose

If you are fit and able enough to work, to earn enough to keep a roof over your head and provide for your family without the help of others, you are blessed.

To look down your noses at those who are not so blessed? May you never find yourself in need.

Amber yet again failed to see the real change in the new system

The services job centres offered are no longer available to UC claimants.

All the funds that were previously spent helping the long term unemployed into work are no longer available too. Instead the funds are now aim at those on disability benefits only.

People who enter the benefits system on disability grounds years ago are required to attend "job coaching sessions".

In real terms there is now more help for the disabled at the expense of abled bodied.

Wow... what a little victim we are..

I work with a wonderful lady, who spends her time between work and lengthy stays in hospital.. she’s had parts of her arteries transplanted and suffers awfully with viruses that lay her low for weeks on end.. then she gets up and goes back to work..

I don’t look down my nose at anyone .. even those who make excuses for not getting up off their fat lazy arses and getting a job.. I just don’t give them the pity they so vehemently demand..

As far as I'm aware Universal Credit is paid to people who are capable of working but dont, if you're incapable of working you recieve a disability benefit which you have every right to have and which i'm sure few would question. My comments were clearly aimed at those who have for years made a living for themselves on the dole and have no intention of working all the time the state is prepared to look after them. I know plenty of these people as i'm sure you do to. I dont consider those who have grafted all their lifes as being blessed and i see no reason why working people shouldnt feel agrieved by those who quite clearly dont lift a finger to help themselves and until Universal Credit came along were happy to live on the handouts and free housing they were being given by government. As has been shown by the success rates in the areas Universal Credit has been in force the longest if you limit what these people get as a free handout its amazing how quickly they can find work.
