This is the accusation hurled at our revered General Practitioners by the top dog GP in the UK.
With half days, four day weeks, long holidays and £100.000 per annum, it looks as though he's right.

In my own surgery, which has always been excellent, we now have, due to departures, new, foreign GPs who are not easily available.

Time perhaps that they stopped squawking about their terrible lives and started earning that huge salary!

This is a difficult one. GPS today have it easy compared to their predecessors, but then so does every other working person compared to their grandparents and even parents, before the WTD came into its own.
So should GPS still be working the 70 hours plus a week doctors used to, or should they be allowed to be inline with mostly everyone else.

Once upon a time people had hobbies rather than obsessions. It was either nose in books , study or work time. There was little leisure because there was nothing to do.

Then...the wireless came along, followed by
TV and then the techy revolution until there is so much leisure activity available that there is now no longer time for work.

hence shorter working days and the 4 day week. [shrug65465.gif]

It must have passed me by as well. I still work the same hours and the same amount of days as 40 years ago.

You're not exactly up to date then are you. I feel the world is passing you by.

I can't get to see my doctor now. We have just about given up. No appointments, call on the day......some hope!

Dong are you using the online booking system?

Most appointments are booked online and it's a 24/7 service.

They are now setting it up, and so far it's a mess.

Then move doctors surgery's. Fine one near by with a working system [9n5.gif]
And before you say "I can't change my doctor, I've been seeing him for years"
Remember if you called an ambulance you wouldn't say "I'm not getting in that, your not my normal ambulance crew" [1744330pz84739fis.gif]

You'd just get in it [adrian.gif]

So why be fussy with doctors [shrug65465.gif]

"So why be fussy with doctors."

Because a new one would have to spend so long catching up on my notes I'd be dead by the time he got round to it. [sad.gif]
