I'm going to tell you a simple truth.......those who get con or scammed online don't follow basic rules.

If you are playing online, pay by credit card. You have more rights if things go wrong.
Use PayPal, again more rights.

Online banking is fine to use. The faster you spot something odd and report it, the more chance of getting your money back.

Just make sure your antivirus is uptodate.

Never use your phone as a form of payment or for online banking. Lose the phone, lose the money.

Always keep contactless cards in a metal wallet. This way they can't scan it by simply walking past you.

People have been robbing banks and plundering accounts since the days of the cowboys. Online banking is no more unsafe than any other type of banking. The advantage of online banking is if in the small chance your accounts ever likely to be robbed the bank can easily see it wasn't you that did it.

£17m robbed in a six month period is a lot of fiddle.

I never give details of me over the web. Well, I did once and I think I got away with it.
