Unprecedented, scorched earth, apocalyptic. These are just some of the words being used to describe the recent world fires.

The Australian's say the current bush fires are unprecedented. So in fact, for them, it is new.

The Australians I watched on the news last night, said they have fires every year, and that the reason behind the widespread fires this year was down to bad land management and lack of fire breaks and that they’d said this for years...

.. despite the reporter trying to get any of the locals to blame climate change..

Well! They do say that the fires cover an area the size of wales; which is a bit big?

I sailed around it once, in me Navy days. I thought it was a bit big then.
