Without an engine, I can't get in and out the harbour :crying:
If the wind dies at sea, I'm stuck out there too [9n5.gif]
And if I had sense, I'd buy an petrol outboard engine for 5k and save the 200kg of extra weight

Instead I'm trying to be green :proud:

After reading torqeedo tec dada I'm only going to order two Power P24-3500 batteries to save weight and 5k. I've not answered Corsair email yet and want to talk with them first before ordering from torqeedo.

One thing that I will order soon will be the generator. Yes I know one comes with the boat but its diesel and I don't want it. Instead I'm buying a fuel cell generator.

EFOY Comfort 210 105 Watts 2520Wh/day Fuel Cell Generator 12VDC
£5,258.99

EFOY Methanol Cartridge 20 (2 x10L) £99

UK Methanol price:

205 Litre (£187.50) £1.10 per L
(Diesel £1.30 per L)

https://www.oilybits.com/methanol-99-5- ... 1000l.html

Again this is another up front price v life time running costs argument. The UK is slowly moving towards a ban on diesel. In the long term diesels got no legs and with a new boat being built..... I have to remember that

I'll talk to Efoy this week and size the generator. Who knows I may get away with the smaller cheaper model

Back in the day we had to do with paddles.
Backbreaking a bit but reliable! :proud:
NB. I posted Paddles, not oars.
You know why.

WoW! It's the same with much of new technology these days. It gets beyond the skills, or comprehension of Mr average.

I have to face the fact I'm not getting any younger
And there's a point were I will give this boat up :crying:

My old sailboats gone to a charity who teaches youngsters to sail :proud:

See:

http://www.sail4cancer.org/

This is the last boat I will ever sail or sink

What I'm trying to do is leave behind the best boat I can. A boat that's cheap to run, easy to maintain and cost nothing to keep. Tickets all the green boxes too :whee:

And before you say its a waste of money, you can spend a weekend with the blood sucking lazy fcuking tw*ts called "family".

Kids today dont know how lucky they are :snooty:
When I was a kid we only had 3 tv channels and a phone box down the street
There was no Ann Summers back then, you had mail order sex toys, gimp suits or lube. They took weeks to arrive [9n5.gif]

None of this fancy food. The only ready meal was a pot noodle. [drool.gif]

Let me tell you, a family holiday was a week in a tent in the back garden when they cut the electricity off :proud:

Today there flying off all over the world just for a few days sun
Ordering food on there phones and "ubering" [shrug65465.gif]

They make me sick :snooty:
