Three is set to go downmarket with the launch of a new mobile phone service that will give discounts to customers who do not use up all their data. The imminent launch of Smarty is the first time that Three has delivered a sub-brand to the market.

Someone asked a question I need to reply too.

The best phone for children under the age of 10 is Doro PhoneEasy 508. They cost around £20 on ebay and are sim free, unlocked.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Doro-PhoneEas ... 0005.m1851

Doro phones where marketed towards the over 65+ age group. They have a big panic button on the back encase of falls. I think this "panic button" works well for kids too. ( It can be set up to call any number. )
There cheap and easy to replace too.

If you give a child a £800 phone, your just asking for trouble. Wait until there teenager and get it all over at once

There's absolutely no way would I entertain the idea of giving an under 10 a mobile phone.

And no debit cards too :snooty:

I hate to say this but most kids have phones and debit cards by the time there 8 years old.
Blaming the parents for this is normal, but its a sign of the times [1744330pz84739fis.gif]

I did ask my sister about this after seeing her friends son with a debit card and phone. He's 9 years old. She reminded me of a time back in the 1970's when my Grandfather asked my Dad why I needed a watch [shrug65465.gif]

I was around the same age and he couldn't understand why a 8-9 year boy need one. For him, watches cost a week's wages and he through it was a waste of time and money.

So I think we're all at that age when we're loosing touch

I put the sim into my old phone and hit smarty web site on my computer. I was asked to activate my sim :winedrinker:

And now I have this message on my computer

"Activating...
This should happen immediately but could take up to two hours. We will send you a text when it’s ready to use."
