Fire escape ladders

I'm going to try and get back on subject :rolleyes:

A really nice fireman came and saw me today [drool.gif]

And he's only just left :crying:

He pointed out something I hadn't thought about: my home is 20 meter high and could I manage climbing down that far on a ladder :blink:

My reply was not in "your fcuking dreams" [rofl02.gif]

So I thought hmmmm...... what about a slide :rarrr:

If I slide down that I'd end up in France [9n5.gif]

And then I saw the price of them, over 20k :peekaboo:

Then I looked at fire shoots :wink_smile:

A 20 meter DIN4102 A2 Non-Flammable shoot costs £16,516.80 inc VAT :silenced:

And I'm going to have to fit a fire window on the top floor for it [9n5.gif]

It's time to get a price on a metal fire escape for the back of the house. I can't remember why the old one was taken out :think:

Or put some nice flower beds below to catch you on the fall if no kind soul in the area at time.

There seems no cheaper solutions that will last this close to the sea long term [9n5.gif]

You dont need something that's going to last into the next centuary. How long do you reckon you've got left, 10 years maybe? 5 even??

Due to the age of the building, weather conditions and location: this needs to be self supporting and galvanized. Taking a 100 mile per hour gust of wind [9n5.gif]

This will need fixing to the building and the footing concreted :shock:

I'd love to build this from concrete and I think it would last longer, but this pushed the cost past 50k :crying:

The cost is the reason few people have fire escapes. :rolleyes:

Rope is cheap. knotted or otherwise.
