I've just watched episodes 1&2 of Vikings. Has any one-else sat through this new series?
So far I'm unimpressed. Lots of death and destruction for no apparent gain.
The Camera shake makes one sea sick but that may be intentional as its a sea going epic.

my parents started watching Hell on Wheels but gave it after a while saying it was going nowhere, they then started to watch Vikings, they like it and im nearly sure they've stuck with it.

NOt me, i still have all of season 2 the following to catch up on, and on GoT i've Tyrion's trial (then theres the one after that) probably sit down next week and have 3 to watch by then.

That's the kind of thing that happened back then, Langy... wanton death and destruction, then down to the tavern for a humping...

Ragnarr Loðbrók (Lothbrok, not Lodbrok) is a legendary Viking hero. His son's including Ivarr the Boneless, was one of the Norse Beserkers.

The series, although poorly acted in parts, is pretty well researched...

.. although there are no such things as seagulls...

Well worth a watch if you like that sort of thing... if not, there's always Eastenders and BGT...

Following Season 2 turned out well after a slow/almost disjointed start

I watched the first season and hated it. But now I'm afraid I have to catch up and start watching again since they just cast two more Finnish actors to star in the new season. They already had one Finnish actor to play "a Finnish viking" and occationally you can hear the vikings speak Finnish on the show, I don't get why though, Vikings and the ancient Finns hated each other...[shrug65465.gif]

Started watching this yesterday.

I'm already on Episode 9 of season 2.
(And enjoying it ... If enjoying is the correct term).

Fascinating stuff.
Some rather beautiful scenery, too.
