Cosy....I get as far as said screen then the mouse and keyboard cease to work,so resetting the pc becomse impossible. No amount of restarts solves it. It’s going in next doors pond soon. [1744330pz84739fis.gif]

This must be a tower and not a laptop. [shrug65465.gif]

The keyboard and mouse must be usb [shrug65465.gif]

Its the only time I can think of this happening.

The issue is: usb is run by the operating system and not the computes hardware. The only way to fix is by finding the older style non usb keyboards and mouse in a charity shop. They should work.

I'm just trying to remember if this a bios issue. This depends on the age of the computer. Some of the older towers computers did have support for usb keyboards in there bios settings.

If this is a laptop and you did a hard reset clearing the drive, all the stuff you need to run the keyboard got swiped.

Its hard to know without more information. [shrug65465.gif]

Yes it is a tower. And the keyboard and mouse are usb. So if I got a wireless one would that help?

No, wireless will not help.

I'm hoping your starting the computer with internet support. In this case it means running a cable from the computer to the router. The wireless card on the tower will not work.

Take a look at the link I posted, see if that helps.

I'm trying to remember if starting the computer in safe mode helped or using a boot disk with the usb drivers worked last time I did this.

Order this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAMAC-PS-2-S ... SwfrxZxX39

Or try and find a ps 2 keyboard locally. Dont buy adaptors, they dont work.

This is what you are looking for:

Look at the back of the computer first and make sure there a place to plug it in.
