Its February and main month for flu. With Valentines Day approaching finding out who's "flu free" could save my life and money on a card & dinner. :shifty:

I've been ill most of this year. I've not died yet but I've been close a couple of times.

From some website or other. It wasn't very flashy, so it must be true.

How can you tell the difference between a cold and the flu? Because colds and flu share many symptoms, it can be difficult (or even impossible) to tell the difference between them based on symptoms alone. Special tests that usually must be done within the first few days of illness can tell if a person has the flu.

What are the symptoms of the flu versus the symptoms of a cold? The symptoms of flu can include fever or feeling feverish/chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches and fatigue (tiredness). Cold symptoms are usually milder than the symptoms of flu. People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose. Colds generally do not result in serious health problems.

So until someone can go back in time and carry out the tests, I had flu but I'm more or less OK now.

If you have a flu virus, you have flu, if you have a cold virus, you have a cold. Colds and flu are very common, affecting millions of people every year. Everything else seems random enough for almost any comment to be true for a million or so people here and there.

The problem with flu is: you cant tell if its going to kill you or not. People have been dying within 48 hours of catching it. Most of us wouldn't think of seeing a doctor before 5 days.

I do feel sorry for medical staff trying to spot those in danger. Doctors surgery and A&E departments are flooded with worried parents. Older people are filling up hospital wards too as the virus spreads through retirement homes.

There is no real way to tell if your going to be one of the unlucky ones.
