I didn't see the match, just the after game reports on the BBC website. Lallana was England's best player, according to them. He was England's best player in the Euro's too..

One comment from Allardyce struck me as odd though;

it is "not for me to say where to play Wayne Rooney", adding that "he did play a little deeper than I thought he'd play today.

You're the manager, Sam, you tell them where to play..

By all accounts, it was as unconvincing as the Iceland game and points to England's inability to break down dogged defensive teams.
