You get the feeling he thinks Liverpool are going nowhere and he's looking for a club thats more likely to win trophies. Does he have a point?

He is a very talented young player who almost got messed around by Liverpool when he turned 18.
There was also a hick-up with him & the English team when he "refused" to play due to needing to rest for the premiership - or am i mixing him up with Sturrage?

I think most young player are more concerned about their wages and profile then being faithful to any fans - but since it is their lives and career, im not sure i object to that, as most (NOT ALL) fans are quite fickle anyway for eg: Tevez - Man Utd fans loved him until he went to City, then they couldn't stop slagging him off. Even if he didn't go the their rivals he still would have gotten stick.

Football fans are more loyal to clubs then the multi-millionaires they cheer on week in week out.

If he doesn't want to sign, the team should just not renew his contract due to his lack of enthusiasm or loyalty to the club.

He's reportedly been offered a £100k a week, four year contract by Liverpool. He's said on more than one occasion, he loves the club and the players and can't see himself playing anywhere else... which just leaves the money.. He's said "it's not about the money" but no player would ever admit it was.

He's not the first player to hold a club to ransom and won't be the last.

He also said that if Liverpool had offered him a contract for far less money this time last year he'd have snapped their hands off. This time last year Liverpool looked like being champions and were looking forward to their first encouter in the top flight of Europe for many years.
I think the message is clear. If Liverpool dont make this years Champions League and look like they have a team to compete with the best in that league he'll be on his way.

He needs to get over himself. Remind me of Michael Owen believing his own hype.

Sterling is a brilliant footballer, there's no denying it, but he's wanting wages that far outweigh his experience. He'll earn that once he "comes of age". Right now, £100k a week is bloody good for a kid of his age..

What player would ever admit it was... He'd lose all credibility and support and any team taking him on would have him down as a sell-sword..

Of course it's about money..

its human nature to want more
if any of us were offered 4 times more than we earn now would we turn it down
no chance
hes under contract right now for 2 more years
its the club driving this not him
