Warburton really isn't dealing with the pressure of a heavy defeat well. He'll have his backers, of course, but I for one am tired of the blame game and the victimology. If he can't accept his own mistakes then he's in the wrong job, because as Rangers manager it's so easy to make a mistake. Winning 1-0 instead of 4-1 is enough to put you in the firing line.

Look at Deila last season. The guy looked bewildered that doing enough to get the job done over the course of a season wasn't good enough.

and when you get older dont start smashing toilets up or pissing on dead soldiers monuments
cos toilets and statues cant fight back

That's what I mean - they were playing the victim when Scottish football stood up to them, and that mentality still exists. There needs to be some sense of accountability else the club will still be chasing its tail when Hearts and Aberdeen pull even further ahead of them. The media, and the fans of the teams Rangers have struggled against, don't care that this is Rangers' first season back in the top flight - there's still an expectation for them to be Rangers.

I think it was Nicky Law who, when he signed for lower league Rangers, said 'If Manchester United were in League One, they'd still be Manchester United'

It was either Law or Jon Daly. That expression probably sums it up better.

It's gonna be a long way back for Joey Barton, if there is a way back. You don't get sent home, then suspended for three weeks by the club, for an exchange of views in training. Seems very excessive. And now it's emerged that he bet on Celtic losing heavily to Barcelona. In itself, that's not the worst - there's no betting pattern, and he's not betting on his own team - but it's not smart.

The much sneered about Accrington Stanley recruit Josh Windass has outperformed him time and time again. Holt, Halliday and Windass make for a better midfield trio than one that has the inconsistent Barton and the not yet match fit Niko Kranjcar (though he at least has shown signs of promise, as has Rossiter but I don't think this will be his season to shine)

I hadn't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me.

Maybe being on hold for twenty minutes would have been a good thing - give him some time to think about his comments before he opens his mouth. He's done himself no favours, and 'I care about this club' is no excuse. Kenny Miller cares about the club, but you don't see him phoning talk sport or spamming Twitter to confirm it.

jb it appears hes got a problem with the cpt holliday/halliday and they had a scrap
listen to me i dont know barton, but i do know he stuck a dart in the eye of one our ex youth players eye,soz not a dart,a cigar,i cant say the players name for legal reasons but it was james tandy, also when city played qpr when we had to beat qpr to win the league in 2012
and we were getting beat 1/2 bart managed to get himself sent off he was trying to head butt every body in sight (yuey it)
i was there at the famous
aguerrroooo, drink it in i swear you will never see anything like this again 95th minute or summat
martin tyler or somebody,i watch it on you tube everyday, didnt see him say it initially,as i was at the match
but looking at the footage,i reckon barton purposely got himself sent off and it sort of stains our premiership win
look at it and see what he does
and you ask me why i dont like scousers?
i said a few weeks ago barton to rangers recipe for disaster. :shakehead:
